CBB Injuries & Updates from Fri. February 12

On Friday returning to action were Zach Harvey & Mamoudou Diarra (Cincinnati), Corey Douglas (VCU), and Jake Forrester (Temple) started after dealing with a rib injury last game.

Sitting out on Friday was Brandon Mahan (UCF) with what was reported to be a minor ankle injury.

Suffering an in-game injury was Damian Dunn (Temple) who was limited to 12 minutes after suffering a knee injury and trying to play through it but eventually was shut down.

In injury updates, Alondes Williams (Oklahoma) is expected to return Saturday, James Bouknight (UConn) will remain out, Tyrese Martin (UConn) is a gametime decision, Isaac Likekele (Oklahoma State) sounds questionable for Saturday, Chris Lykes (Miami) is hopeful to finally return on Sunday, Juwan Gary (Alabama) may miss a few weeks, Rylan Jones (Utah) appears unlikely to play Saturday, Bourama Sidibe (Syracuse) sounds doubtful for this weekend & possibly for the rest of the season

  • Jordan Bruner, Alabama – still a couple weeks away (knee)
  • Cincinnati Zach Harvey (8 pts/18 mins) &, Mamoudou Diarra (4 pts/8 mins) returned to action (covid)
  • Corey Douglas, VCU – returned to action (ankle) – 4 pts/16 mins
  • Damian Dunn, Temple – started but only played 12 minutes with 0 points, was seen riding an exercise bike early in the 2nd half, in postgame was shared he was limited after hurting his knee early in the first half

  • Justin Powell, Auburn – still not practicing (concussion)

  • Bourama Sidibe, Syracuse – “I don’t think Bourama’s coming back”, sounds doubtful to return this weekend if not season
  • UConn James Bouknight will not play Saturday, Akok Akok will be available, Isaiah Whaley has been limited with an ankle but should play, Tyrese Martin is a GTD with an ankle injury

CBB Injuries & Updates from Thur. February 11

On Thursday newly sitting out were Rylan Jones (Utah) with a right shoulder injury suffered in practice, Marcus Bagley & Chris Osten both for Arizona State with ankle injuries suffered in practice, and Ira Lee (Arizona) with an ankle injury.

Returning to action included Chris Duarte & Eric Williams (Oregon), Cody Riley (UCLA), Ziaire Williams (Stanford), Bryce Thompson (Kansas), Aljaz Kunc (Washington State), and Dishon Jackson (Washington State, ankle injury last game).

Suffering in-game injuries were Josh Christopher (Arizona State) who was a GTD with a lower leg bruise but ended up going to the locker room after a hard fall and then was said to be out with a back issue in the 2nd half, and Lukas Kisunas (Stanford) who the broadcast shared suffered an apparent ankle injury in the first half.

Remaining out were Jalen Hill (UCLA), Daejon Davis (Stanford, available but DNP), and Jabari Walker (Colorado).

In injury updates, DaJuan Gordon (Kansas State) is doubtful for Saturday.

On Wednesday newly sitting out were Yves Pons (Tennessee) with a sore knee, Mwani Wilkinson (LSU) did not travel with the flu, Adam Seiko (San Diego State) with a calf injury, Ty Berry (Northwestern) due to the passing of his father, Justin Lewis (Marquette) with a leg injury after playing through it last game, Shareef O’Neal (LSU) with a foot injury he has been dealing with, and Luka Kraljevic (Boston College).

Returning to action included CJ Fredrick (Iowa), Darius Days (LSU), Teddy Allen (Nebraska), Matt Mitchell (San Diego State), Jerome Hunter (Indiana), Ian DuBose (Wake Forest0, Makai Ashton-Langford (Boston College), Kadin Shedrick (Virginia), Keith Dinwiddie (San Diego State) and Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler (Wichita State). Bryan Antoine (Villanova) made his season debut after a shoulder injury.

Notables remaining out were James Bouknight (UConn), Jimmy Nichols & Jared Bynum (Providence), Wynston Tabbs & DeMarr Langford (Boston College), Khadim Sy (Ole Miss) & Richard Washington (San Jose State).

In injury updates, Oregon’s Chris Duarte & Eric Williams are gametime decisions for Thursday. Tyrie Jackson (East Carolina) will miss the rest of the season, Jimmy Nichols (Providence) will likely miss the rest of the season, Juwan Gary (Alabama) is doubtful for Saturday, and Yves Pons (Tennessee) is expected to be available Saturday.

Returning to action included KeShawn Curry (VCU), Brendan Medley-Bacon (VCU), Collin Holloway (Georgetown), Avery Benson (Texas Tech) and Braelee Albert (Vanderbilt).

Playing through injuries were Herb Jones (Alabama, back), Kadary Richmond (Syracuse, toothache), Desi Sills (Arkansas, shoulder), Thomas Kithier (Michigan State, illness), and Terrence Shannon (Texas Tech, ankle).

Suffering in-game injuries were Juwan Gary (Alabama) who got the hometown start at South Carolina but left early with a shoulder injury and did not return. He came back out with his arm in a sling.

In injury updates, for LSU Darius Days has a chance to play Wednesday, while teammate Shareef O’Neal has missed practice with a foot issue again. CBB Injuries & Updates from Mon. February 8

On Monday Teddy Allen (Nebraska) did not play for not meeting program expectations, Matt Mitchell (San Diego State) was out with a minor ankle injury, and Yor Anei (SMU) did not play for personal reasons. The UNC-Miami game was likely postponed because of a video that showed UNC players Armando Bacot & Day’Ron Sharpe celebrating with others after the Duke game this past weekend without masks. Evan Battey (Colorado) started after an ankle injury at the very end of his last game but Richard Washington (San Jose State) remained out.

Returning to action on Monday were Darius McNeill (SMU), Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe (Oklahoma State), Tyon Grant-Foster (Kansas), Aguek Arop (San Diego State) Oumar Ballo (Gonzaga) and Michael Ofoegbu (San Jose State).

In injury updates, Ian DuBose (Wake Forest) is expected to play Wednesday, Herb Jones (Alabama) may sit on Tuesday, Thomas Kithier (Michigan State) is expected to be back at practice on Monday, while Terrence Clarke (Kentucky) may miss the rest of the season.

For UCLA Cody Riley is hopeful to play this week but Jalen Hill‘s status is uncertain, for Virginia Tech Jalen Cone is day to day while Tyrece Radford continues working his way back to the team after legal issues, and for Louisville Aidan Igiehon and Josh Nickelberry are expected to be back at practice this week.

CBB Injuries & Updates from Sun. February 7

On Sunday CJ Fredrick (Iowa) sat out again with a lower leg injury, Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler (Wichita State) was out for a family funeral, and Zach Harvey & Mamoudou Diarra (Cincinnati) were out again in covid protocols.

For Stanford, Daejon Davis remained out, but was reported to be out for not meeting program standards rather than a knee injury, Bryce Wills returned to action after a knee injury & Ziaire Williams was said to be available but might be limited and did not end up playing.

In game injuries, Jake Forrester (Temple) appeared to take a knee to the ribs/torso that took him out of the game in the second half, he was able to return but seemed to still be dealing with pain.

On Saturday newly sitting out were Chris Duarte (Oregon) with an ankle injury last game, Boston College was missing Wynston Tabbs, James Karnik & DeMarr Langford for covid reasons, and Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe (Oklahoma State) was out due to a practice injury. Cody Riley (ankle) and Jalen Hill (personal) were out for UCLA, Tyrie Jackson (East Carolina) was out after an ankle injury last game, Tyon Grant-Foster (Kansas) with an ankle injury, Oso Ighodaro (Marquette) with a foot injury, Aljaz Kunc (Washington State) due to illness, and Jabari Walker (Colorado) was not dressed with a walking boot.

Returning to action included Charlie Moore (DePaul), Austin Reaves (Oklahoma), Luka Kraljevic (Boston College), Javan Johnson (Iowa State), Andre Jackson (UConn), Brandon Suggs (East Carolina), Bourama Sidibe (Syracuse), John Newman (Clemson), Sasha Stefanovic (Purdue), KJ Buffen (Ole Miss), Bryce Hamilton (UNLV), Justin Lewis (Marquette), Abe Kinrade (Air Force), TJ Bamba (Washington State), Jacob Toppin (Kentucky) and Gabe Brown (Michigan State).

Suffering in-game injuries were Jalen Cone (Virginia Tech) who left the game in the first half and returned to the bench with a boot on his foot, Christian Bishop (Creighton) suffered an ankle injury early but returned to action, Thomas Kithier (Michigan State) did not feel well at halftime and was not able to return for the 2nd half as a precaution, Javohn Garcia (UMass) took an eye poke, went to the locker room and came back to bench area with a large bandage on his eye, Evan Battey (Colorado) suffered an apparent ankle injury in the final minute of the game, and Dishon Jackson (Washington State) was helped off the court with an apparent ankle injury in the 2nd half and did not return.

Fatts Russell (Rhode Island) came into Saturday reported to be limited with injuries, played off the bench, but ended up going to the locker room in the second half with a right ankle injury. Terrence Shannon (Texas Tech) was said to be injured (revealed to be a sore ankle they wanted to rest) but available if needed, and did enter later in a close game.

Notably remaining out again included Chris Lykes (Miami), Eric Williams (Oregon), Jared Bynum & Jimmy Nichols (Providence), Tre Mitchell & Noah Fernandes (UMass), Terrence Clarke (Kentucky), & Alondes Williams (Oklahoma).

In injury updates, Tyrece Radford (Virginia Tech) could return from suspension this week, James Bouknight (UConn) is a gametime decision moving forward, Chris Duarte (Oregon) has swelling in his ankle but x-rays were negative, outside chance to play next weekend, and Jabari Walker (Colorado) will be out 2-3 weeks with a foot injury.

CBB Injuries & Updates from Fri. February 5

In injury updates, for Oklahoma Austin Reaves will start Saturday but Alondes Williams remains out, Sasha Stefanovic will return Saturday for Purdue, and Dalano Banton and Yvan Ouedraogo should be back for Nebraska. Chris Lykes (Miami) returned to practice and is a gametime decision but teammate Earl Timberlake remains out. For UMass Tre Mitchell is out tomorrow while teammate Noah Fernandes is a gametime decision.

Justin Lewis (Marquette) is a gametime decision, Javon Pickett (Missouri) is fine and has been practicing, and Quentin Millora-Brown (Vanderbilt) should be available. DaJuan Gordon (Kansas State) remains out, Bryce Hamilton (UNLV) is still questionable, Bryce Thompson (Kansas) remains out, and Jimmy Nichols (Providence) is out indefinitely. For UConn, Andre Jackson will be available Saturday, and James Bouknight may be able to return on Wednesday.

In a limited slate of Friday night major conference games, Moulaye Sissoko (Dayton) was out again due to injury.

CBB Injuries & Updates from Thur. February 4

On Thursday sitting out were CJ Fredrick (Iowa) with a lower leg injury he has been battling, and Cincinnati came off of a covid pause missing Zach Harvey & Mamoudou Diarra. Eric Williams (Oregon) was out as expected for covid protocols, & Ziaire Williams, Daejon Davis & Bryce Wills were out again for Stanford.

Returning to action were Chris Duarte (but got injured, more below) & LJ Figueroa for Oregon and Christian Gray (Fresno State). Xavier DuSell (Wyoming started after a back injury last game, and Hameir Wright (Washington) played off the bench as he deals with a thumb injury.

Making season debuts were Will Richardson (Oregon) after thumb surgery and Kerr Kriisa (Arizona) after eligibility issues.

Suffering in-game injuries were Chris Duarte (Oregon) who left the game in the second half with an apparent right leg/ankle injury and did not return, and DJ Rodman (Washington State) took an elbow to the face in the second half, left the game with a bloody nose and did not return.

In injury & other updates, Gabe Brown (Michigan State) will be through covid protocols by Saturday but his conditioning will determine if he can play, and Jimmy “Tre” Clark (VCU) is no longer with the team.

On Wednesday sitting out were Tre Mitchell & Noah Fernandes with injuries for UMass, Jimmy Nichols (Providence) with a non-covid illness, Brandon Suggs (East Carolina) with an undisclosed injury, Jacob Toppin (Kentucky) with a non-covid illness, Osayi Osifo (Florida) with an ankle injury, Jimmy Clark (VCU) for a university suspension, and Scott Spencer (La Salle) for undisclosed reasons. Darius Days (LSU) & KeShawn Curry (VCU) did not play after suffering injuries in their last games.

Returning to action were DJ Funderburk (NC State), Ferron Flavors (Oklahoma State), Greg Williams (St John’s), Levi Stockard (VCU), Tyrie Jackson (East Carolina, suffered a different injury though) & Cairo McCrory & Kolton Mitchell (UMass).

Remaining out included Jared Bynum (Providence), Darius McNeill (SMU), Terrence Clarke (Kentucky) & Francisco Farabello (TCU).

Suffering injuries on Wednesday were Tyrie Jackson (East Carolina) who left in the first half with a lower body injury and returned to the bench area with crutches & a boot, and Javon Pickett (Missouri) left the game late in the second half with an apparent ankle injury.
